If the Internet was a global village, then we might as well say that notebooks made a colony. With desktops, things were a click away from us; portable short distance. Now we can carry on our shoulders the colony. High-tech in your lap, perhaps, have nothing to conquer the world of convergence.

The great advantage of notebooks is that it gives us a sense of portability and mobility. Looking critically, portability is the only feature, with more than a notebook desktop so why choose to go to a notebook? Laptops may not bring comfort to your work and not have to worry about all the cables, hardware and space needed to keep a desktop PC. It is also a question of choosing between work and home. A notebook has a lot less space and is also very convenient.

Some of the most famous are portable Sony Vaio, Apple MacBook, Dell Latitude, Toshiba, HP. There are also many affordable versions of notebooks marketed by companies such as Fujitsu, Panasonic, IBM, Asus, etc.
